MUC Matt Muehl-Miller
MU1 Matt Muehl-Miller

A native of Charleston, Illinois, Chief Musician Matt Muehl-Miller, French horn, began musical studies in the fifth grade with Kazimierz Machala at the University of Illinois. He continued with Julie Landsman at The Juilliard School, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Muehl-Miller continued studies at Rice University with William VerMeulen and received a master’s degree. In between schooling, he won positions with the Syracuse, Hartford, and Springfield Symphonies. Matt has also played with the Louisiana, New Haven, and New World Symphonies, and has been invited to perform at Tanglewood, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Aspen Music Festival. MUC Muehl-Miller entered the Coast Guard Band in July 2010.
