2023-2024 Program Information

We are pleased to offer the United States Coast Guard Band’s Community Outreach Initiative Program this season, providing chamber music performances from the end February to the beginning of March!  These programs are being offered to local elementary schools. Musical ensembles from within the band are designing creative, educational programs that will be performed on the mornings of February 21st-23rd, February 26-29th and March 1st.

This year we are excited to offer several chamber ensembles to come and perform at your school! For an example of what these programs might look like, see below:

Ideally, we perform a 30-minute program for PreK-Grade 2 followed by another 30-minute performance for Grades 3-5, with a 15-20 minute break in-between for transition.  We aim for these concerts to start around 9:00AM. We hope to have your school enjoy one of these performance opportunities! Participation is on a “first come, first served” basis.

Once you are there, fill out the entirety of the form and click submit.  If you have any questions about the required information on the form, we will gladly answer them. Please fill out all date choices as your first selection may no longer be available once we are in the booking process.  Historically, these programs have filled up very quickly.  We will be able to accommodate about 20 schools out of a pool of around 70 that we contact.  These performances are free, just like all United States Coast Guard Band concerts.

For more information email MU1 Laura Yawney at Laura.C.Yawney@uscg.mil.  We look forward to hearing from you!
