The Coast Guard Band performed magnificently in Chester, Pennsylvania, Saturday. Highlights from the program included vocal solos from Musician 1st Class Megan Weikleenget, Chief Musician Cedric Mayfield performing a saxophone solo, and Musician 1st Class Nathan Lassell doing a xylophone solo of "Girlfriends Medley." Thank you Navy League Philadelphia Council for hosting us! "We support the sea services and are honored to have the Coast Guard Band perform," the president of the Philadelphia Council of the Navy League, Thomas Metzger, said. #CoastGuardBand Director Lt. Cmdr. Adam Williamson presented Mr. Metzger with a signed, framed photo of the Coast Guard Band. U.S. Naval Sea Cadets were on hand to receive awards for their achievements -- congratulations! We had a wonderful time performing for the crowd, and talking with audience members, including World War II Army veteran Sebastian De Stefano! Thank you for your service! #uscgbandtour2018

Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Jake Gallego, a graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School who joined the USCG in 2014, was recognized as a hometown hero at the concert! Petty Officer Gallego shared with us his experience as a damage controlman aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Harriet Lane! Bravo Zulu!
