MU1 Alison Marseglia

Musician 1st Class Alison Marseglia is from Pawcatuck, Connecticut and has fond memories of hearing many Coast Guard Band concerts as a child. After studying with MUCS Gino Villarreal for six years in high school, Alison attended Baylor University where she worked with Wiff Rudd and Mark Schubert, graduating with her Bachelor of Music Performance degree in December of 2023. Earlier that year, Alison won first prize in both the National Trumpet Competition’s Denny Edlebrock Military Excerpt Division, and the International Trumpet Guild’s Ryan Anthony Memorial Competition: Orchestral Excerpt Division. Alison attended the Eastern Music Festival and the Brevard Music Center where she worked closely with Judith Saxton, Ryan Beach, Ray Riccomini, and others. As a college student, she was an active freelancer in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, performed with the symphonies of Waco, Austin, and Alabama, and presented masterclasses at the Univeristy of North Texas and the University of Alabama. Beyond trumpet, Alison enjoys arranging for brass quintet, playing the piano, reading, hiking, and exploring beaches.
