MUC Kelly Hurrell

Chief Musician Kelly Hurrell graduated from Florida State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance, and earned a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004. She performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and soloed with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra in 2000 and 2001, the Florida State University Wind Orchestra and at the Florida Music Educators Association annual conference in Tampa. Her principal teachers include Frank Kowalsky and Richard MacDowell. MUC Hurrell joined the Coast Guard Band in April of 2004, and was appointed principal clarinet in July of 2005.
