MU1 Meera Gudipati

Musician 1st Class Meera Gudipati, flute, joined the United States Coast Guard Band in January 2018. She previously held the acting principal flute position with the New Haven Symphony for the 2015-2017 seasons. MU1 Gudipati appears on Hyperion Records’ Ein deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms conducted by David Hill. During her summers, MU1 Gudipati was a fellow at the National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, Brevard Music Festival, Oberstdorfer Musikakademie, Académie Internationale d’Eté de Nice, and Round Top Festival Orchestra where she performed Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns. Gudipati holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music. She studied with flutists Marianne Gedigian and Ransom Wilson. Gudipati won first prize at the Orchestral Audition Competition and Masterclass at the National Flute Association, the University of Texas Regents’ Award in Arts and Humanities in the Solo Performance category, the Kentucky Collegiate Flute Competition, and the Young Artist Competition of the Florida Flute Association.
