MUC Ian Dobie

Chief Musician Ian Dobie is a Grammy Award-winning recording engineer specializing in classical and acoustic music multimedia production. He holds a bachelor of music degree in audio engineering from the Cleveland Institute of Music, with additional studies at the Banff Centre. Prior to joining the U.S. Coast Guard Band in 2017, Ian worked as a freelance audio engineer for almost 10 years, working with Erica Brenner Productions, 5/4 Productions, ChamberFest Cleveland, and many other artists, arts organizations, and production companies. He is credited on many award-winning albums released by Telarc International, Decca, Naxos, Lynn Records, ASO Media, and more. Outside of work Ian is an avid rock climber and spends most of his time in the kitchen cooking food for his friends.
