MUC Robert Durie

Chief Musician Robert Durie, bass clarinet, joined the Coast Guard Band in February of 2019. Originally from Parkland, Florida, Robert Durie graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy. He then enrolled at Florida State University to study clarinet under Dr. Frank Kowalsky, Dr. Deborah Bish, and Dr. Jonathan Holden. Robert completed his terminal studies with an Artist Diploma at the University of Texas at Austin with Professor Jonathan Gunn.

Robert has attended the National Music Festival during both its 2015 & 2016 Seasons, the Miami Summer Music Festival in 2015, and in 2014 he participated in Chautauqua Institution’s Music School Festival Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Timothy Muffitt. He has also played with the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra and “The President’s Own” Marine Band & Chamber Orchestra.
