MU1 Camilla Yoder
Musician 1st Class Camilla Yoder, originally hailing from Lancaster, PA, joined the U.S. Coast Guard Band in January 2026. Prior to this appointment, she served as Lecturer of Oboe at the University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton School of Music from Fall 2024 through Fall 2025. She completed her DMA degree at the University of Kentucky, where she was the teaching assistant for Dr. ToniMarie Marchioni and her dissertation work focused on the intersection of double-tonguing pedagogy and Body Mapping. She has performed with ensembles such as the Lexington Philharmonic, Allentown Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, the Berks Sinfonietta, Washington-Idaho Symphony, Bozeman Symphony, and Great Falls Symphony. During recent summers, she presented/performed at the International Double Reed Society Conference and attended the Texas Music Festival, National Music Festival, Chautauqua Music Institute, Endless Mountain Music Festival, and the National Orchestral Institute. Within both her undergraduate and doctoral degrees, she won the schools’ concerto competitions. Her previous alma maters include Temple University’s Boyer College of Music (MM) and Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music (BM), where her primary teachers were Jonathan Blumenfeld and Jeff Rathbun.
