Personnel Bio

MUCS Kelly Watkins
MUC Kelly WatkinsMUCS Kelly Watkins hails from the great state of Texas. A member of the United States Coast Guard Band since 2003, she spent the first 15 years of her career as a member of the United States Coast Guard Brass Quintet. Kelly completed formal trumpet studies at Illinois State University and Northwestern State University of Louisiana and has studied conducting with Dr. James Patrick Miller and Dr. Mallory Thompson, among others.

MUCS Watkins has served as Artistic Director and Conductor of the LGBAC Symphonic Band in New York City, interim Music Director of Classic Brass in Willimantic, Connecticut, and currently serves on the faculty at Eastern Connecticut State University as Director of the Eastern Concert Band. She has also served as President and Executive Director of the International Women’s Brass Conference, and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
