MUC Noel Marcano
MUC Noel Marcano

Chief Musician Noel Marcano graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance and earned a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. In the summer of 2008, he won second prize in the International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Audition Competition held at ClarinetFest in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a frequent substitute clarinetist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra and in 2002 performed as soloist with the orchestra. In 2007, MUC Marcano was clarinet soloist with the College-Conservatory’s Wind Symphony. His principal teachers include Richard Hawley, Kathleen Jones, and Ricardo Morales. MUC Marcano joined the U.S. Coast Guard Band in May 2009.
