MUCS Joe D'Aleo
MU1 Joe D'AleoSenior Chief Musician Joe D’Aleo has been the tenor saxophonist for the United States Coast Guard Band since 2013. He has performed all over the country including the International Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL, the International Navy Band Saxophone Symposium in Fairfax, VA and most recently in Cherbourgh, France in June of 2019 with the Coast Guard Saxophone Quartet to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. MUC D’Aleo was also a regular soloist during the Band’s 2019 National Tour of the Great Lakes Region, performing Claude T. Smith’s “Fantasia” for alto saxophone and wind ensemble. His mentors include Carrie Koffman, Donald Sinta and US Navy Band Master Chief (Ret.) Dale Underwood. An avid competitive marksman, MUC D’Aleo is a member of the United States Coast Guard Shooting Team. His accolades include becoming the 87th Coast Guardsman in history to achieve the Coast Guard Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge, the Coast Guard Rifle Bronze Badge, and was a President’s 100 Pistol Match award recipient in both 2018 and 2019 at the annual National Pistol Matches at Camp Perry, OH. MUC D’Aleo resides in West Hartford, CT with his lovely wife Charlotte.
