Personnel Bio

MU1 Bryce Call

Musician 1st Class Bryce Call joined the Coast Guard Band in October 2016. Born and raised in Brier, WA, a suburb of Seattle, he began playing the trumpet at age 10. In 2014 he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Brigham Young University, and in 2016 he finished a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from the University of Idaho. He has been fortunate enough to play lead trumpet for Aretha Franklin, the Bob Curnow Big Band, and the New London Big Band. MU1 Call has also shared the stage and recording studio with trumpet greats Jon Faddis, Allen Vizzutti, and Rick Baptist. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.
