The Coast Guard Band ushers in a new era as it welcomes brand new vocalist Musician 1st Class
Allison Anderson, soprano, to the stage for the very first time. MU1 Anderson will showcase her
vocal versatility by featuring a wide variety of repertoire selections from opera, musical theater, and
the Great American Songbook, including Donizetti’s “Chacun le Sait,” George and Ira Gershwin’s
“Someone to Watch Over Me,” and more favorites from Puccini, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole
Porter, and Kurt Weill. The Coast Guard Band opens the concert with Leonard Bernstein’s
“Overture to Candide” and will feature more music from Sir Arthur Sullivan, Harry Alford, and
more in a rousing concert that is sure to bring the audience to its feet.
