The U.S. Coast Guard Band presents a free concert, “Origins.” Join us for a celebration of military
band history under the baton of Commander Adam Williamson. We welcome Ninth District
Commander Rear Admiral Jon P. Hickey as guest speaker.

The program opens with an exciting fife and drum flourish. William Schuman's “Chester” follows, a
classic overture based on an American Revolution-era tune by William Billings. Sousa's “Yorktown
Centennial” precedes Gustav Holst’s “Hammersmith,” a work written expressly for military band.
Next on the program is “Victorian Ballads” by the Coast Guard Band’s own MUC Sean Nelson, and
the concert concludes with John Williams’ powerful music composed for the film “The Patriot.”
