Featuring the music of J.S. Bach, Cecile Chaminade, Philip Sparke, and Charles Ives

Assistant Director Chief Warrant Officer Jeffrey Spenner leads a thrilling concert of repertoire
inspired by popular songs and dance scenes. The Band will feature the virtuosity of Musician 1st
Class Ryan Foley on flute performing Cécile Chaminade’s “Concertino,” a rhapsodically expressive
and technically demanding pillar of flute literature. Other featured works on the program include
Philip Sparke’s Sudler Composition Prize-winning “Dance Movements,” Percy Grainger’s lush
setting of "Irish Tune from County Derry," Charles Ives’s “Variations on ‘Jerusalem the Golden,’” and
other works by Bach, and Sousa.
