Since 1945, the United States Coast Guard Band has been one of the five premier service bands in the United States. The Coast Guard Band routinely tours throughout the United States and has performed in the former Soviet Union and in England. Additionally, the band regularly furnishes programs to National Public Radio for broadcast throughout the country. Concerts have been broadcast in Australia, Japan and Europe.
Each year the band conducts tours with free public concert appearances. Daytime school visits are often included in these tours. If you'd like your community to be considered for a future tour, you'll need to submit your suggestion one year in advance.
The band also fulfills a limited number of public requests for patriotic programs at national conventions and meetings of nationally recognized civic, patriotic and veterans organizations. Sponsors for these events must fund all expenses such as transportation, meals, lodging and promotion efforts.
