BOATING SAFETY COURSES

Many boating safety courses are offered throughout the country for recreational boaters of all ages and experience levels. Qualified volunteer organizations such as the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, United States Power Squadrons, and others sponsor many courses. State boating agencies also provide classes nationwide.

Courses cover a wide range of boating safety topics, from basic boat handling and weather awareness to electronic navigation skills. Offerings range from youth focused programs to advanced instruction for experienced boaters. Most basic boating safety courses include six to thirteen lessons designed to provide a solid foundation in safe operation.
