USCG Social Media Program

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Social Media Program is located at USCG HQ. The HQ Social Media Team manages content on official USCG HQ social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, and LinkedIn.

All requests for new, official USCG social media accounts are reviewed and approved by the USCG Digital Media Division Chief. Once new accounts are approved using the current USCG social media new account requirements, the information is shared with the DHS Social Media Office as part of the official new account process.

We also oversee the USCG Social Media Managers Community of Practice, an interactive, information-sharing monthly briefing encouraging collaborations, best practices, and sharing lessons learned.

Additionally, we implemented Instagram Weekend Takeovers. This program encourages collaborations across the Coast Guard and is used to feature some of the best of the best official USCG Instagram accounts from the field.
