As the Command Master Chief for the Pacific Area and Defense Force West, Command Master Chief Josh McBride serves as the senior enlisted leader and a trusted advisor to the Pacific Area Commander. In this vital role, he is a dedicated advocate for the enlisted workforce, shaping policy and fostering initiatives that directly impact the readiness and well-being of Coast Guard members. His collaboration with the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard is instrumental in driving the development and implementation of key workforce policies.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Command Master Chief McBride's distinguished career began in April 2001. His 13 years of sea duty across six cutters, including the CGC Rush, CGC Yellowfin, CGC Oak, CGC Eagle, CGC Dallas, and CGC Munro, forged a deep understanding of the operational demands and the spirit of the service.

His shore assignments showcase a unique blend of strategic influence and hands-on leadership. From serving as a Food Service Officer at Station Tybee, a vital member of the Food Service Assistance and Training Team, to his pivotal role as the sole enlisted Program Reviewer at the Office of Budget and Programs (CG-821), he has consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to the Coast Guard's mission and its people. In this latter role, he reviewed and influenced programs vital to military personnel, human resources, and readiness. His leadership journey continued to ascend with his assignment as the Southwest District Command Master Chief prior to assuming his current responsibilities.

Command Master Chief McBride is a testament to the pursuit of lifelong learning and professional growth. A graduate of the Chief’s Call to Indoctrination, the Chief Petty Officer’s Academy Class 237, Senior Enlisted Leadership Course Session 88, and Keystone Class 24-2, and a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland Security and Defense Executive Leader Program. Now in his 25th year of service, his career exemplifies the highest ideals of leadership, dedication, and selfless commitment.
