Master Chief Michael V. Farrell

Senior Enlisted Leader, Atlantic Area

U.S. Coast Guard

Master Chief Mike Farrell assumed the duties of Command Senior Enlisted Leader for U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area on March 24, 2026. He is the principal advisor to the Commander with a focus on the well-being of the total workforce and their families.

He most recently served as the CSEL at Joint Interagency Task Force South, Key West, FL, where the team was responsible for the detection and monitoring of illicit narcotics across a 42 million square nautical mile Joint Operating Area. Previously he served as the Senior Enlisted Liaison to the House of Representatives.

Master Chief Farrell’s previous assignments include Engineer Petty Officer on CGC RICHARD DIXON, CGC JOSEPH TEZANOS, and CGC BRIDLE. Additional assignments include US Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, TX; SFO Fort Macon, Atlantic Beach, NC; Sector San Juan, PR; Special Missions Training Center, Camp Lejeune, NC; Marine Safety Unit Wilmington, NC; CGC AQUIDNECK, CGC LONG ISLAND, and Station Portsmouth, VA.

Master Chief Farrell is a graduate of Keystone 24-1, US Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 72, Senior Enlisted Leadership Course Class 71, and Chief Petty Officer’s Academy Class 222. Master Chief Farrell graduated from University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Master of Business Administration and earned a Bachelor of Leadership and Workforce Development from the US Army Command and General Staff College.

Originally from Holly Ridge, North Carolina, Master Chief Farrell enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in June 1999, graduating from TRACEN Cape May with India-155. He has earned various personal, unit, campaign, and service awards.

He is married to the former Kristi Davis of Charlotte, NC. They have two daughters, Kayla and Charleston and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Dorado.
