Master Chief Michael D. Ingham

Master Chief Michael D. Ingham assumed his duties as the Command Master Chief for the Deputy Commandant for Mission Support on May 5, 2024. In this role, he serves as the principal advisor to the Deputy Commandant on all enlisted personnel matters.

Before this assignment, Master Chief Ingham was the Command Master Chief for the First Coast Guard District in Boston, MA. He transitioned there from the Coast Guard Cyber Command in Washington, DC, where he also held the position of Command Master Chief. Prior to these roles, he completed a successful tour as the Information Systems Technician Rating Force Master Chief.

Master Chief Ingham enlisted in the Coast Guard in October 1998, and following recruit training in Cape May, NJ, he reported to Training Center Petaluma, CA for Telephone Technician A-School. His early assignments included the Electronic Systems Support Detachment in Miami, FL, and the Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk in Key West, FL. In August 2005, he was assigned to the Electronic Systems Support Unit in New Orleans, LA, arriving just in time for Hurricane Katrina and focusing the subsequent years on recovery efforts. In 2008, he advanced to Chief Petty Officer and received orders to Washington, DC. There, he completed a one-year joint service assignment to the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, followed by a role with TISCOM’s Local Area Network Team in Alexandria, VA. During this time, he was selected to serve as Chief of the Ceremonial Honor Guard and pursued an advanced education program after advancing to Senior Chief Petty Officer. His next assignment took him back to Miami, this time to Base Miami Beach’s C5I Department, where he later advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer.

His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal, and Coast Guard Achievement Medal, among other personal and service awards. He has earned the Honor Guard, Command Master Chief, and Rating Force Master Chief insignias.

Master Chief Ingham is a graduate of the Keystone Course, Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course, the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy, and other service-related schools.
