Master Chief Waldo assumed duties as the Reserve Command Master Chief for the 7th Coast Guard District in July 2022. His primary responsibility is to advise the Commander of the 7th Coast Guard District on issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard Reserve members and their families throughout the District, encompassing Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico.

Prior to his current assignment, CMC Waldo served as the Reserve Command Master Chief for Sector St. Petersburg, FL and previously Sector Jacksonville, FL. As a Machinery Technician, he was the Senior Enlisted Reserve Advisor (SERA) at Coast Guard Station Sand Key, FL. Other assignments include boat engineer, boat crewmember, and law enforcement boarding officer at Station Sand Key, FL, and Station Toledo, OH. Prior to joining the Coast Guard Reserve, CMC Waldo entered active duty in 1998 and was assigned to the USCGC Tahoma home ported in New Bedford, MA and Station Marblehead, OH during his 4-year enlistment. In 2004 CMC Waldo deployed with PSU 307 to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

CMC Waldo’s personal awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal with operational distinguishing device, Commandant’s Letter of Commendation with operational distinguishing device, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Mobilization Device, Advanced Boat Forces Operations insignia, and numerous other individual and unit awards.

A native of Erie, PA, CMC Waldo is married to BM1 Jennifer Waldo, USCG (ret) and they have two daughters: Paige, and Chloe. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of Tampa. He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Leadership Course, Chief Petty Officer Academy Reserve, Maritime Law Enforcement Academy Boarding Office Course, and EMT Basic Course.
