Command Master Chief Eric Gibson

Command Master Chief Seventh Coast Guard District

U.S. Coast Guard

Master Chief Gibson reported to the Seventh District in May 2023, where he serves as the Gold Badge Command Master Chief, advising the District Commander regarding issues, policies, and initiatives pertaining to Coast Guard personnel and their families assigned to units within the District and living in SC, GA, FL, PR, and the USVI. Most recently, he served as the Command Master Chief at Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia, PA.

Some of his previous assignments include Command Master Chief at Sector San Juan in Puerto Rico,  Senior Enlisted Advisor to the USCG Maritime Infrastructure Protection Force-Training & Advisory Group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Command Master Chief, Operations Department Senior Chief, and Direct Action Section-Team 3 Senior Chief at MSRT-E in Chesapeake, VA; Command Enlisted Advisor for the International Division-Mobile Training Branch in Yorktown, VA; Executive Petty Officer, CGC ALBACORE in Norfolk, VA; Operations Petty Officer aboard CGC ADAK, in Manama, Bahrain; Direct Action Section-Team 2 squad leader at MSRT in Chesapeake, VA; Tactical Coxswain at Maritime Safety & Security Team 91102 in Chesapeake, VA; CG Station Fort Pierce, FL and the CGC HORNBEAM in Cape May, NJ.

Before joining the Coast Guard in March 1997, he worked as a Police Officer in North Carolina and served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve as a Parachute Rigger.

Master Chief is a graduate of the Chief Petty Officer’s Academy and the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course.

Gibson’s personal awards include Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medals, Coast Guard Commendation Medals, Coast guard Achievement Medals, and Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbons. His other awards include the Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, and various other personal and unit awards. He wears the Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement, Cutterman, Coxswain, Operations Ashore Response, and Advanced Boat Forces Insignia. While in the Army, he earned the U.S. Army Basic Parachutist and Parachute Rigger Badges.
