Master Chief Ryan Fahlenkamp serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Eleventh Coast Guard District Commander. In this capacity he provides advice to the District Commander on issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard members and their families throughout the District. The Eleventh District encompasses the states of Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and California to include its coastal and offshore waters, and the offshore waters of Mexico and Central America down to South America. Most recently, Master Chief Fahlenkamp served as the Command Master Chief at the Eighth Coast Guard District in New Orleans, LA.

Master Chief Fahlenkamp’s previous Coast Guard assignments include Command Master Chief od District Eight; Command Master Chief of Patrol Forces Southwest Asia; Command Master Chief of the Deployable Operations Group; Instructor at Chief Petty Officer Academy, Petaluma, CA and Food Service Specialist “A” School Training Center Petaluma, CA; Loran Station Port Clarence, Alaska; Master-at-Arms staff, Training Center Petaluma, CA; Coast Guard Cutter POINT CHICO, Bodega Bay, CA; Air Station Humboldt Bay, McKinleyville, CA; Coast Guard Cutter MUNRO, Alameda, CA; Coast Guard Cutter Resolute, Astoria, OR, and Coast Guard Cutter JARVIS, Honolulu, Hawaii. 

Master Chief Fahlenkamp’s military awards include three Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medals, five Coast Guard Achievement Medals with operational distinguishing device, Restricted Duty and Arctic Service Medals. He has also earned a permanent Cutterman’s insignia. 

Master Chief Fahlenkamp is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Class CXLI (137) and is a graduate of several senior service schools to include the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course and CAPSTONE. Originally from Riverbank, California, Master Chief Fahlenkamp enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1989. Master Chief Fahlenkamp is married to his High School sweetheart Brenda, they have two children, Jacob and Jordan.
