Master Chief Wayne E Davis assumed his duties as the Reserve Command Master Chief for the First District in June 2022. His primary responsibility is to be an advisor to the District Commander on all matters and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard Reserves and family members within the First District. The First District includes eight states in the Northeast and 200 miles of coastline from the US-Canadian border to northern New Jersey.

Prior to assuming his current assignment, Master Chief Davis served as the Reserve Command Master Chief of Sector Southeastern New England. Master Chief Davis enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in September of 1995. After completing his active-duty contract, he enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve in September of 1999. Master Chief Davis’s prior assignments include: Station Situate, Station Point Allerton, Station Boston, Sector Boston, Port Security Unit 301, Overseas Maritime Security Detachment and Sector Southeastern New England.

Master Chief Davis was been recalled to active duty to serve in several key leadership positions. As an Operations Officer, he was responsible for managing over 200 Port Security Operations. He served as the Chief of Training for a Reserve Boat Crewman program that was responsible for overseeing 160 personnel qualifications. As an Assistant Planning Chief, he liaised with local and military officials in planning for several major SEAR1 events.

While deployed, he served as one of six Senior Enlisted Leaders to a Joint Task Force, responsible for the wellbeing of the Service members and their families back home. Master Chief Davis is a graduate of the Chief Petty Officer Leadership Academy (2009) and is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Leadership Course (2011). Master Chief Davis is a native of Attleboro, Massachusetts and currently resides with his family in North Attleboro, Massachusetts.

His personal awards include three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals, an Armed Forces Reserve Medal, two Commandant’s Letters of Commendation, a National Defense Service Medal, two Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal, four Coast Guard Reserve Good Conduct Medals, a Boat Forces Operations Insignia, a Boat Coxswain Insignia, and a Port Security Insignia along with numerous unit awards.
