Command Master Chief Jeffrey N. Waters assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Force Readiness Command (FORCECOM) on July 5th, 2019.  His primary responsibility is to advise the Commander on issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard members and their families throughout the FORCECOM enterprise.  Additionally, CMC Waters assists with strategic initiatives that shape the training and readiness of the Coast Guard’s enlisted workforce.  FORCECOM directs the activities of 41 subordinate commands which impact every Coast Guard mission at every unit, all enlisted ratings, and every officer specialty to deliver mission ready forces through superior training, doctrine, leader development, readiness assessments and major exercise support.  Prior to this assignment, CMC Waters served as the Command Master Chief of Coast Guard Base Boston, MA.

Originally from Gainesville, FL, CMC Waters enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1992.  His previous assignments include Command Master Chief, Base Cleveland, OH; Command Master Chief, Electronics Systems Support Unit Cleveland, OH; Command and Control Engineering Center (C2CEN), Portsmouth, VA; Training Division, Maintenance & Logistics Command Atlantic, Norfolk, VA; Rescue 21 Project Resident Office (PRO) Detachment, Cleveland, OH; USCGC JARVIS, Honolulu, HI; Communications Area Master Station Atlantic (CAMSLANT), Chesapeake, VA; USCGC LEGARE, Portsmouth, VA; Station Frankfort, MI; and in Coast Guard City, USA, Station Grand Haven, MI.

CMC Waters holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University.  He is also a proud graduate of Class 122 of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy, and Class 01-11 of the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course.

CMC Waters’ awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals; the Coast Guard Achievement Medal; and other personal, team, unit and service awards.  He has earned a permanent Cutterman’s insignia, and a Command Master Chief (Gold Badge) insignia.

CMC Waters is married to the former Susan Folwell of Clearwater, FL, together they have three awesome daughters: Cailin (University of Akron graduate), Madeline (Kent State graduate), and Grace (attending the Virginia Military Institute).
