Command Master Chief Shane Hooker serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Eleventh Coast Guard District Commander.  In this capacity he provides advice to the District Commander on issues and initiatives pertaining to all Coast Guard members and their families throughout the District.  The Eleventh District encompasses the states of Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and California to include its coastal and offshore waters, and the offshore waters of Mexico and Central America down to South America.  Most recently, Master Chief Hooker served as the Command Master Chief for the Deputy Commandant for Operations from June 2018 to July 2019.

CMC Hooker is a native of Salem, OR. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in July of 1988 advanced to Chief Petty Officer in July of 1998 and made Master Chief in 2005. He holds Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison State College. He is a Marine Science Technician by trade and in March 2017 he became the first ever Silver Ancient Trident. 

CMC Hooker’s previous assignments include Command Master Chief, 7th District; Command Master Chief, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support; Program Reviewer in the Office of Budget and Programs, Rating Force Master Chief of the Marine Science Technician Rating, School Chief for MST “A” School, Air Station Cape Cod, Pacific Strike Team, Keesler Air Force Base, Pacific Area; Station Grays Harbor, Marine Safety Office Portland, OR; TRACEN Yorktown, Loran Station Kure Island.

In addition to being a proud graduate of the Chief Petty Officer’s Academy, Class CXXVI, CMC Hooker has graduated the Coast Guard Command Master Chief course. 

CMC Hooker’s personal awards include five Meritorious Service Medals, three Coast Guard Commendation Medals with Operational Distinguishing Device, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals with Operational Distinguishing Device, two Coast Guard Letters of Commendation, ten Coast Guard Good Conduct Medals, the Coast Guard Permanent Marine Safety Professional Pin and 40 other unit and team awards.

CMC Hooker is married to Command Master Chief Phadra Hooker and they have three adult children.
