Command Master Chief Adwoa S. Hendricks assumed the duties as the Command Master Chief for the Deputy Commandant for Operations on August 23, 2019. Most recently she served as the Command Master Chief for Coast Guard Pacific Area.

CMC Hendricks received a baccalaureate degree from Nova Southeastern University, where she majored in Health Science (2006). She also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Webster University (2009).

Her military education includes; The Department of Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute Senior Leadership Training, the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy; the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course, and the National Defense University Keystone Joint Command Senior Enlisted Leader Course.

CMC Hendricks’ military awards and decoration include two Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medals, three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, a Coast Guard Achievement Medal, two Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbons with operational distinguishing device, a U.S. House of Representative Congressional Special Recognition Award, and the Stars and Stripes Award for Leadership in Science Technology Engineering and Math, and various unit awards.

CMC Hendricks’ principle command cadre tours include Command Master Chief for Coast Guard Pacific Area, Alameda, CA (2018-2019); Command Master Chief for the Fifth Coast Guard District, Portsmouth, VA (2016-2018); Senior Enlisted Leader at the Coast Guard Navigation Center, Alexandria, VA (2013-2016); and Senior Enlisted Leader at Coast Guard Sector Detroit, MI (2010-2013).

Her principle staff and unit assignments include Enlisted Gender Policy Advisor at the Coast Guard Headquarters Office of Diversity; Coast Guard Air Station Miami, FL; USCGC DALLAS, Charleston, SC; Coast Guard Vessel Traffic Service Houston-Galveston, TX; and USCGC SHERMAN, Alameda, CA.

CMC Hendricks graduated in June 1993 from Amityville Memorial High School in Amityville, New York, and immediately entered Coast Guard Basic Training in Cape May, New Jersey, in August 1993. Upon completion of Basic Training, CMC Hendricks’ first duty assignment was Coast Guard Sector Galveston, Texas, and she completed Radarman Apprentice School in Yorktown, Virginia, in 1994.
