Crewmembers stationed aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Robert Ward, a Sentinel Class Fast Response Cutter, demonstrate the maneuverability of their 26-foot Over the Horizon IV Cutter Boat in San Francisco Bay, Feb. 28, 2019. The Robert Ward is the newest Coast Guard cutter to be stationed in California and will provide additional resources to the Coast Guard in emergency response, maritime smuggling, marine safety, environmental protection, search and rescue, and port security.

26-foot over-the-horizon cutter boat

The 26-foot over-the-horizon cutter boat supports multiple assets to include the national security cutters, medium endurance cutters and the fast response cutters. The boats conduct search and rescue, drug interdiction, alien migrant interdiction operations, living marine resources, defense readiness, and ports, waterway and coastal security
