Boat Force Insignia Policy
7 March 04
CHANGE IN POLICY:
Effective immediately: Auxiliary coxswains who qualify for the USCG's single (pewter) tone Boat Force Insignia may also wear their earned Aux Coxswain Insignia on their uniform at the same time. One device shall be affixed above and centered over the ribbon bar the other device shall be affixed centered on the left pocket flap above the button. Either insignia can be worn in either place. It remains a personal decision as to which goes above the ribbons and which is on the pocket flap.
DISCUSSION: The two insignia represent significantly different qualifications for an Auxiliarist, so they are now entitled to wear both. The Boat Force Insignia policy only addressed CG Active duty wearage. Active duty personnel are still not able to wear both. G-OCS, The Office of Boat Forces will be amending the Boat Force Manual during summer 2004 to reflect this change.
