MUC Stephen Lamb

Senior Chief Musician Stephen Lamb, tuba, received a bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York and a master’s degree from the Shepherd School of Music of Rice University in Houston, Texas. His principal teachers include Richard Murrow, Mark Kellogg, Don Harry, and David Kirk. He has appeared with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra X (of Houston), the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Buffalo Philharmonic, with whom he performed as guest soloist for youth concerts in January and February 2000. He served as principal tuba on concert tours with both the Eastman Wind Ensemble and the American Russian Young Artists Orchestra. As a chamber musician he has played with the Paragon Brass Ensemble, the Rochester Philharmonic Brass Quintet, and the Eastman Virtuosi. MUCS Lamb joined the United States Coast Guard Band in April 2003.
