PPC Virtual Training Overview and Capability Testing

The PPC Procedures and Development (P&D) branch is inviting all Servicing Personnel Offices to attend a brief overview of Defense Connect Online (DCO), the training platform that will be used to deliver the Human Capital Management System (HCMS) and Global Pay (GP) release scheduled for January 1, 2015. The presentation will take about 30 minutes of your time and will be used to evaluate connectivity and capability.

I have been receiving requests regarding the training season for FY14 which under normal circumstances would be announced soon. I regret to inform all of you that the Procedures and Development branch will not be offering any workshops during FY14 due to the continued preparation for the HCMS and Global Pay release. This will be the first season since 2004 that we have not provided services to the field. In anticipation of future requests I wanted to inform you now. It has been our extreme pleasure to serve each and every one of you along the way and rest assured we will continue to maintain our website and materials.

Our goal is to continue to support your missions in any way we can! The P&D staff will be working on building virtual classrooms and some of you may be called upon to help us pilot the program. In the meantime, remember that all of the course books can be downloaded from our website and all of our presentations and materials can be mailed to your unit upon request should you wish to conduct training on your own.

On behalf of the P&D staff we thank you for your continued loyalty and look forward to working with you again in the future. Please feel free to contact me anytime regarding any of our products and services!

This workshop is focused on the Direct Access Servicing Personnel Office User Manual. The format of this workshop is open discussion forum with exercises that allow data entry in a Direct Access test environment. There are case scenarios and student accounts for both Direct Access and JUMPS so attendees can work through a situation in class and see the end result in JUMPS, creating a positive learning environment. Topic selection was based on a combination of previous student survey input, issues provided by PPC Customer Care, and identified problem areas from PPC (MAS) and (SEP) branches.

Reserve Component (RC) Member Workshop

Course Materials

This workshop is designed specifically for Reserve members. The topics covered are based on inquiries and requests for information from Reservists.

  • Release from Active Duty
  • SELRES Bonus Programs

This workshop does not provide Servicing Personnel Office data entry procedures.  However, for active duty personnel, it is an excellent introduction to the Reserve program. All who attend will come away with a better understanding of how the Coast Guard’s pay and personnel systems function to provide accurate and timely compensation to members of the Reserve component.

Travel/Reporting Information:

PPC hosted workshops are held in Topeka, KS. Each convening has 15 seats. There is no cost to attend PPC hosted workshops.  Travel and per diem cost is born by the benefiting unit. Government quarters and messing are not available.

Web-TPAX Outage

Web-TPAX is experiencing errors which is causing the application to drop users while working in TPAX. PPC is working to resolve this issue. It is strongly recommended that any TPAX activity be postponed until Thursday, 17 April 2014. In the interim, if a traveler must submit a travel claim, please submit a manual paper travel claim. PPC Travel continues to have the ability to process manual travel claims during this outage.
