Lieutenant Commander Fair C. Kim is a 1996 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. After commissioning, he served as a Deck Watch Officer in USCGC COURAGEOUS, homeported in Panama City, Florida. He then served as Executive Officer of USCGC CHINCOTEAGUE in Mobile, Alabama and later, Key West, Florida. He transferred to the Staff of Commander, Destroyer Squadron Six in Pascagoula, Mississippi where he served as the Coast Guard Liaison Officer. After serving as Commanding Officer of USCGC VASHON in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he attended law school at the University of Florida. He then served as the Operational Law Section Chief and later as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate at the Seventh Coast Guard District Staff in Miami, Florida.
