MAKO is the 3rd Hull of the of Coast Guard patrol boat (WPB), called the
“Marine Protector” class and named for marine animals. MAKO was built at
Bollinger Shipyard in Lockport, Louisiana and entered service in September
1998 in Cape May, New Jersey.
MAKO uses state of the art navigation and engineering technology that
permits the crew to efficiently perform the wide range of Coast Guard
missions. Our area responsibility ranges from Manasquan, NJ to North
Carolina/South Carolina boarder.
