Office365 FAQs - How will cutters connect to O365?
Cutters will connect to O365 through on-site servers. The current capability on each cutter will remain largely the same.
~45 cutters will retain their email and file/app servers (most cutters 180 feet and greater).
~150 cutters will retain their file/app servers (some cutters 179 feet and below).
Office365 FAQs - What is the size limit for sending files in O365?
The default maximum email message size in Office 365 is 25 MB.
Office365 FAQs - Will I be able to delegate access to my mailbox and calendar?
Yes, you will retain the ability to grant calendar and email read/write access to other CG email account holders.
Office365 FAQs - During transition, will users on the legacy system be able to communicate with those on the new system?
Yes. Email: on-premises Exchange will be upgraded to 2016 in order to ensure compatibility with O365. Once the migration is complete, most of the Exchange 2016 on-premises footprint will be decommissioned (the cutters will remain).
Skype: on-premises Skype will be compatible with Teams in O365.
Office365 FAQs - Will I be able to access a shared mailbox if it hasn’t been transitioned yet?
Yes. Part of keeping O365 in sync with the on-premises servers is upgrading their server and application software to the latest version (e.g. Exchange 2016).

Notifications will be sent to users during migration phases to communicate when transitions are complete.

Office365 FAQs - Will DOD/DHS contacts show up in the Global Access List (GAL) after transition to O365?
No, the GAL will remain the same as it is for now (i.e. USCG only). Interagency contacts may be available in the future.
Office365 FAQs - Will my calendar and all existing/currently scheduled appointments transfer to O365?
Yes, all existing data will be transferred to O365 on a migration schedule.
Office365 FAQs - What will happen to distribution groups after the migration to O365?
Distribution groups will transition to O365 as they exist now.
