Office365 FAQs - Is the CG the first government agency to move to O365?

No. The US Air Force, Army Corps of Engineers, and the Defense Logistics Agency have successfully migrated their office solutions to O365. These migrations have been extremely successful and we anticipate that DoD will mandate migration to a cloud-based office suite for all tenants of the DoD Information Network (DODIN) through an initiative known as the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS). The DHS has issued a similar mandate and several other agencies, including the USCG, are actively leveraging lessons learned to plan O365 migrations.

In January 2017, the DoD, DHS, and the USCG signed a Memorandum of Agreement determining that the CGOne network, all applications, and data would be governed in accordance with DoD CYBER policy, and would be considered an extension of the DODIN. The Coast Guard will follow the path to DEOS.
