Office365 FAQs - How will cutters connect to O365?
Cutters will connect to O365 through on-site servers. The current capability on each cutter will remain largely the same.
~45 cutters will retain their email and file/app servers (most cutters 180 feet and greater).
~150 cutters will retain their file/app servers (some cutters 179 feet and below).
Cutter personnel will have a portion of their email/documents transitioned to the on-premises server during PCS. The amount of data kept on-cutter is still under evaluation. In general, the goal is to minimize on-cutter email/data in order to increase performance, but store enough locally to maintain mission effectiveness.
