Hello Shipmates,
We have moved into hurricane season during the “new normal” ushered in by a viral pandemic. As Hurricanes Hanna in the Gulf and Douglas in the Pacific reminded us this weekend, forces of nature will continue to be a part of life. We are constantly faced with numerous challenges from nature; however, this year, we must confront anxiety surrounding hurricane season (e.g., ensuring safety for our families, homes and communities while maintaining mission readiness) in addition to the stress of a florid pandemic. Please join us this week for Wellness Wednesday on 29 July from 1500-1600 EST as we hear from our friends in District 8. Captain Michael Paradise, Commanding Office of Base New Orleans, and Chaplain Mark Beaudet, Command Chaplain in Sector Mobile, will be discussing how to stay equipped physically and spiritually through the topic of Disaster Preparedness while dealing with COVID-19.
