Commander Krause serves as the Coast Guard Yardís Chief of Project Management, responsible for managing all projects on the CG Yard waterfront.
Commander Krauseís prior afloat assignments include Student Engineer and Damage Control Assistant on Coast Guard Cutter POLAR STAR, and Engineer Officer on Coast Guard Cutter JARVIS. His shore-based assignments include duty in the Naval Engineering Division of Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific and Sector Honolulu Logistics Department Head.
Commander Krauseís most recent assignment was Port Engineer for Coast Guard Cutter HEALY, where he managed all planned depot maintenance for the CGís largest cutter with an annual budget exceeding $16 million.
Commander Krause is a 1998 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a Bachelorís Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He earned both a Masterís degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and a Masterís Degree in Manufacturing in 2002 from the University of Michigan. Commander Krauseís personal awards include four Coast Guard Commendation Medals (two with Operational Distinguishing Device) and the Coast Guard Achievement Medal.
