Since many people will not be able to attend the World Maritime Day Parallel Event in New York, ports around the country held their own observances to provide valuable education, awareness and publicity on the maritime community's efforts to combat climate change.
A guide to assist ports in planning their World Maritime Day observance was created. The guide includes information on World Maritime Day, climate change and its impacts on maritime transportation, along with a number of event ideas.
