The Command Cadre of Station Boothbay Harbor consists of a
BMC Officer in Charge, a BMC Executive Petty Officer and an MK2 Engineering
Petty Officer. Additionally a BM1 Operations Officer and BM1 1st
Lieutenant are staffed to
assist the Command with day-to-day operations.

Kris Demetros
Chief
Boatswain's Mate Kris Demetros is a native of Waterford, NY,
and enlisted in the Coast Guard on September 1995. Upon completion of
recruit training his first assignment was the Coast Guard Cutter NEAH BAY,
home ported in Cleveland, OH. While there he struck and advanced to
Boatswain's Mate Third Class. In June 1997 BMC Demetros reported to MSO
Portland, ME, where he served as a Boarding Officer, Pollution Investigator,
Life Raft Inspector, and Un-inspected Towing Vessel Examiner. After
advancing to BM2 in 2000 he transferred to CG Station Brant Point,
Nantucket, MA. While at Station Brant Point BMC Demetros was certified as
coxswain on the 47ft MLB, 44ft MLB, and 41ft UTL, as well as being the
Station's Deck Department head and Operations Petty Officer. Upon his
advancement to BM1 in July 2003, BMC Demetros received orders to CG Station
Portland, OR, where he served as the Executive Petty Officer. During his
time there, the station was awarded the coveted Sumner I. Kimball readiness
award. In the spring of 2005, he was certified as Officer in Charge for
Multi-Mission Ashore. In June 2005, BMC Demetros reported to the USCGC
WILLIAM TATE, home ported in Philadelphia, PA, where he served as the First
LT and Operations Petty Officer. He was then transferred to Station
Chincoteague, VA in April 2008. At Station Chincoteague, BMC Demetros served
as the Executive Petty Officer and advanced to Chief Boatswain's Mate on
June 1, 2009. BMC Demetros' personal awards include one Coast Guard
Commendation Medal, four Coast Guard Achievement Medals with the Operational
"O" device and four Coast Guard Good Conduct awards.

James McDermott
Chief Boatswain's Mate Jim
McDermott assumed the duties of the Executive Petty Officer in July of
2009. He is a native of Long Island, NY and joined the US Coast Guard in
January of 2001. Upon graduation from Recruit Training he reported to CGC
Pendant in Boston, MA. He then served at CG Station Rockland, ME and CGC
Valiant in Miami, FL. BMC McDermott has been qualified as a coxswain on the
47MLB, 41UTB, 25’RB-S, 25’UTL, 25’CB Over the Horizon, and the MSB. He is
also qualified as Deck Watch Officer for a 210WMEC and Boarding Officer. BMC McDermott has been
awarded numerous personal awards and unit awards including two Coast Guard
Commendation Medals, one Coast Guard Achievement Medal, one Letter of
Commendation, and two Good Conduct Medals.

Todd "Biff" Zelenkewich
Machinery
Technician Second Class Todd "Biff" Zelenkewich, a native of Winchester, CT
enlisted in the Coast Guard in October 2001. After completion of recruit
training MK2 Zelenkewich reported to MAT Newport, RI, where he spent 8
months until going to MK "A" school in Yorktown, VA. Upon graduation and
advancement to Machinery Technician Third Class in the spring of 2002, MK2
Zelenkewich reported to the CGC Legare in Portsmouth, VA. While there he
qualified as 270 WMEC Engineer Watch/Oiler and advanced to Machinery
Technician Second Class in 2005. MK2 Zelenkewich transferred to MAT Kittery,
ME in June of 2005 where he was stationed till reporting to CG Station
Boothbay Harbor in June of 2009. He is engineer qualified on the 47ft MLB,
as well as a crewmember on both the 47ft MLB and 25ft RBS, and is also a
Boarding Team Member. MK2 Zelenkewich's awards include a Coast Guard
Achievement Medal, two Commandant Letters of Commendation, and a Good
Conduct Medal.

Jeremy Graffam
BM1 Jeremy Graffam is a
native of Orrington, Maine. BM1 Graffam attended basic training in the
summer of 2000. Upon graduation he reported to his first unit; Aids to
Navigation Team, Milford Haven, Va. From ANT Milford Haven BM1 Graffam
transferred to Station Boothbay Harbor from 2002-2006 and received
certifications such as Law Enforcement Boarding Officer, Officer Of the Day,
47’ MLB coxswain, 21’ RHI coxswain and 25’ RB-S coxswain. From 2006-2010
BM1 Graffam served at Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor, NH and Coast
Guard Cutter Sanibel located in Woods Hole, MA. BM1 Graffam returned to
Station Boothbay Harbor as Operations Petty Officer in March of 2010.

Ken McSherry
Boatswain's Mate First Class Ken McSherry is a native of Redding, CT, and
enlisted in the Coast Guard in July 1978. Upon completion of recruit
training his first assignment was CG Station Montauk, NY. After advancing to
Boatswain's Mate Third Class, he was transferred to BOSDET 30-3 in New
London, CT, in May 1979. In April 1982 BM1 McSherry reported to CG Station
Moriches, NY, where he was certified boat coxswain on the 44ft MLB and 41ft
UTL. Upon advancement to BM2 in July 1984, BM1 McSherry was transferred to
Captain of the Port, NY. There he served as Boarding Officer, Pollution
Investigator, and On Scene Coordinator. In April 1986 BM1 McSherry left the
Coast Guard and owned an Environmental Cleanup Company. He returned as a
reservist in October 1998 and was assigned to CG Station New London, CT. He
served once again as Boarding Officer and 47ft MLB and 41ft UTL coxswain, as
well as certifying as coxswain on the 25ft RBS. In September 2001 BM1
McSHerry was activated and spent the next 2 years on active duty. In 2003 he
was fully integrated back into the Coast Guard at CG Station New
London and served as First LT and Operations Petty Officer. In June 2007 BM1 McSherry transferred to the USCGC Eagle where he served as Main Mast Captain
and Deck Watch Officer. BM1 McSherry's personal awards include two Coast
Guard Achievement Medals and three Letters of Commendation.
