Web Service Adoption
Please note the President's Management Agenda (PMA) provides the impetus for both federal agencies and citizens to adopt government-wide web services. Several government-wide initiatives were identified in the PMA that related to the acquisition and financial assistance communities. Among these was the establishment of a single point of entry for finding acquisition opportunities and another point of entry for finding financial assistance opportunities.
Available Web Services
GSA established the FedBizOpps web site (http://www.fbo.gov) (which replaced the Commerce Business Daily) as the official publication mechanism for finding acquisition opportunities. Additionally, currently proposed changes in the FAR require federal agencies to adopt the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (http://www.ccr.gov/) and to forego the collection of the SF-129, Solicitation Mailing List Application Form.
Federal Financial Assistance
On the financial assistance front, the E-Grants Project Management Office (PMO) has been established and has published several notices in the Federal Register related to finding and applying for federal financial assistance. As a result of these activities, the Managing Partner for the E-Grants PMO has developed and deployed the Grants.gov web site (http://www.grants.gov)
Electronic Notification Subscription
Both the FedBizOpps and Grants.gov systems will send e-mail notifications to interested parties who have registered up for these services.
