Welcome to Sector San Juan!

If you are visiting our web site because you have just received orders to Sector San Juan…Congratulations!  I’m certain you will find your new assignment to be rewarding and filled with challenges, adventures, and opportunities unlike anywhere else in the Coast Guard.  I’ve found adjusting to island life to be a simple transition.  For those headed to the amazing U.S. Virgin Islands, I’m certain you will quickly master driving on the wrong side of the road.  If you are headed to Puerto Rico, you will soon experience a rich, spirited culture that warmly embraces all that live on or visit this Island of Enchantment, even those, like myself that speak no Spanish.

Our web site is designed to make your transition to Puerto Rico as smooth as possible.  You will find information and links ranging from moving your house hold goods to recreational activities throughout the Caribbean.  Be sure to check out links for information about Fort Buchanan the local Army installation, housing options, medical care and educational opportunities.  If you can’t find what you are looking for ask your sponsor!

In addition to your sponsor, our “Welcome Aboard” team is made up of every member of our command, military and civilian alike, and we are looking forward to you joining the Sector San Juan family.  If you have any questions about the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico or about your move, just ask!  Phone numbers can be found at the “Contact Info” link.

I look forward to meeting you when you arrive, so please make sure you plan your trip with safety in mind.

Captain Robert W. Warren, USCG
Commander, Sector San Juan
