To ensure and maintain the medical readiness and deployability of all U.S. Coast Guard active duty and reserve, and uniformed services personnel in support of U.S. Coast Guard and uniformed worldwide missions.

Active Duty / Reserve Members

Sick call hours are no longer practiced as a walk-in basis. Members are encouraged to call the appointment line to schedule an appointment. Sick call appointments will be seen from 0720-0800. Routine appointments will start at 0820. The appointment line is open at 0700 during regular working days.

All Active duty personnel are required to enroll in TRICARE Prime upon arrival to their new duty station. Personnel can enroll at the TRICARE Service Center located within the Clinic. Detailed information on these programs is available from the TRICARE representative located at the clinic on base.

There is a small Dental Clinic aboard Sector San Juan. The Dental Clinic is staffed with one Dentist, one Dental Hygienist, one Dental Assistant, and one Health Services Technician. Dental care is available for Active Duty and reserve members ONLY. Dental appointments are scheduled by calling 787-729-4344.

Active Duty Family Members

The Sector San Juan Clinic does not provide primary care to Active Duty Family members (ADFMs). Active Duty members must enroll their family members in one of the TRICARE programs available: TRICARE PRIME or TRICARE STANDARD, and choose a Primary Care Manager (PCM) for their family members. Beneficiaries of active duty personnel can receive dental care by enrolling in the TRICARE - Active Duty Family Member Dental Plan through United Concordia.

After Hours Medical Care Services

After 1530 (close of business), no medical care is delivered by Clinic personnel. Members needing medical care after hours are advised to contact the Duty Health Services (HS) Technician at (787) 360-1613 for advice and to coordinate how to access health care services in the local community. Active duty members are required to contact our Clinic to schedule an appointment for follow up after an emergency room or urgent care facility visit; ensuring continuum of care.
