The mission of PSSU San Pedro, through the teamwork of our active duty, reserve and civilian crew, is to provide our AOR supported customers with a wide range of personnel, pay, housing, transportation and MWR services in support of Coast Guard mission readiness. Lieutenant Commander Jack E. Robinson
United States Coast Guard
Lieutenant Commander Robinson comes from Integrated Support Command San
Pedro where he served as Chief, Personnel Services Division since August
2008 and most recently as Integrated Support Command San Pedro Executive
Officer (XO) since June 2009. As the Personnel Officer, he led the
services of the Coast Guard Work Life Program, Coast Guard Housing Program,
and Administrative, Pay, Personnel and Transportation support. As the
XO of Integrated Support Command San Pedro, he led the daily operations of
this major logistical support unit serving over 2000 members at 45 Coast
Guard units in the southern California, Arizona and Nevada.
His diverse career includes serving as an independent duty Yeoman First
Class onboard Coast Guard Cutter VALIANT in Galveston, TX where he advances
to Chief Yeoman in February of 1989. As a Chief Petty Officer he
served at the Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. While there he
qualified as a Coast guard Small Arms Instructor assisting with the training
of Cadets in small arms qualifications. He was promoted to Chief
Warrant Officer in June of 1994 and transferred to the Pay and Personnel
Center, Topeka, KS, to the Advancements and Evaluations Branch. While
there he led the unit's efforts with the planning and introduction of Coast
guard High-Year-Tenure policies and sea duty service points into the
enlisted advancements process. His next assignment was at Integrated
Support Command Honolulu, HI. While there he promoted to Lieutenant in
May of 1999 under the Coast Guard's Warrant-to-Lieutenant Program and served
at Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC as the Human Resource Liaison
Officer for Human Systems Integration to the Integrated Deepwater System for
Total Ownership Cost. He departed CG Headquarters for a Personnel
Officer assignment at the Coast Guard Aviation Training Center, Mobile, AL
in July 2003. While assigned at ATC Mobile her served as the logistics
and housing coordinator in the immediate aftermath of hurricane Katrina and
Rita. During an intense three week period, he provided innovative
housing solutions which enabled the command to eventually lodge and feed
over 2,500 first responders at a facility designed for 90 residences.
His achievements contributed significantly to the Coast Guards largest ever
single life-saving event. LCDR Robinson served as the Personnel
Services Division Chief at Integrated Support Command Ketchikan, Ketchikan,
AK from 2006-2008 prior to reporting to Integrated Support Command San
Pedro.
Lieutenant Commander Robinson is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Warrant
Officer Indoctrination Course, Class 1, at the Naval Air Station Pensacola,
FL and of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer's Academy, Class 15, in
Petaluma, CA. He is married to the former Yamile Rodriguez of Bogota,
Columbia. They have four children: Wendall, Sarah, Anthony and
Michael.
Lieutenant Commander Robinson has been awarded the Coast Guard Commendation
Medal (four awards), the Coast Guard Achievement Medal (three awards), and
two Commandant's Letter of Commendation Ribbons among twenty-nine other
service medals and awards.
