Roles and responsibilities of PSC-ESS:

     (1)  Technical control and integration for the CG ESO program.  This can manifest itself through assessment of the education program to ensure standardization of PSSU/Base ESO processes.

     (2)  Depot-level oversight and control for Regional ESOs in the execution of the program, ensuring your units receive, understand, and implement changes to policy and procedures forwarded from FORCECOM and the Institute.

     (3)  Central point of contact for the Regional ESOs.  The PSC-ESS will gather all concerns, issues, questions, and recommendations and forward to FORCECOM and the Institute for evaluation and response.

     (4)  Conduit between PSC and program managers on such topics as SWEs, the PT&E Manual, etc., working to determine the impact and effect of new policy and procedures.

 Coast Guard Institute:  The mission of the Coast Guard Institute is to provide the clearest path to the next pay grade or education degree level
