Curriculum Outline
This performance based course provides lecture, laboratory demonstration, practical exercises, and clinical experiences in the areas of anatomy, medical administration, basic clinical laboratory procedures, asepsis and sterilization technique, preventive medicine, nursing skills, pharmacy, clinical sick call, wound repair, clinical services, leadership and management. The Management Information Systems are a vital part of the “A” School curriculum and include, the Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Provider Graphic User Interface (PGUI), and Medical Readiness Reporting System (MRRS). Currently included in the curriculum is the seven week Coast Guard Emergency Medical Technician Basic Course.
