MCPO Ryan Fahlenkamp

Master Chief Petty Officer Ryan Fahlenkamp assumed the duties of Command Master Chief, Deployable Operations Group in June 2011. In this role, he is the Senior Enlisted Advisor for more than 3,000 Coast Guard personnel and 26 Deployable Specialized Forces operating in support of Operational Commanders around the world.

Prior to the DOG, Master Chief Fahlenkamp was stationed at the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy, Petaluma, Ca. Stationed there for four years,  he mentored more than 3,500 Master Chiefs, Senior Chiefs, Chiefs, Master Sergeants and several international students

Previous duties include chief of culinary knowledge, course design chief, galley supervisor, classroom chief of Food Service Specialist “A” School at Training Center Petaluma, CA; Food Service Officer,  Loran Station Port Clarence, Alaska; Master-at-Arms staff, Training Center Petaluma, CA; Food Service Officer, Coast Guard Cutter POINT CHICO, Bodega Bay, CA; Food Service Officer, Air Station Humboldt Bay, McKinleyville, CA; duty cook, Coast Guard Cutter MUNRO, Alameda, CA; and Deck Department Coast Guard Cutter Resolute, Astoria, OR, and Coast Guard Cutter JARVIS, Honolulu, Hawaii.

He has been qualified as a boarding team member, Naval Surface Rescue Swimmer, boat coxswain, emergency medical technician and navigation officer.

Master Chief Fahlenkamp’s military awards include five Coast Guard Achievement Medals with operational distinguishing device, three Commandant’s Letters of Commendation with operational distinguishing device, Restricted Duty and Arctic Service Medals. He has also earned a permanent Cutterman’s insignia.

Master Chief Fahlenkamp is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Class CXLI (137) and Riverbank High School, Riverbank, CA, in 1989. 

A Native of Modesto, California, Master Chief Fahlenkamp married his High School sweetheart, the former Brenda Morris of Riverbank, California.  They have two children, their son Jake and daughter Jordan.  They currently reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with their cat Harley and two Labradors, Shelby and Jackson.
