NOAA Ice Seal Survey

Four NOAA scientists joined POLAR SEA in Kodiak, AK. Once in the Bering Sea, they flew with the helicopter along pre-determined routes, looking for four different types of ice seals: ringed seals, spotted seals, bearded seals, and ribbon seals. Walruses were among the other wildlife we saw out on the ice.
